The Ohio State Buckeyes are the defending national champions of the college football world. All eyes will be on them as they look to repeat. Most experts have them as the No. 1 team in the pre-season polls. But I’ve learned not to put too much into those pre-season polls as they tend to be aimless. While the buckeyes will most likely be the number one team in the country next year, there are still question marks on who will be the starting quarterback come fall. Urban Meyer has the luxury of having to pick from three quarterbacks that would start at any other program in the country. Cardale Jones played and won the three biggest games of the season, Braxton Miller would be an instant Heisman hopeful if he got the starting job, and JT Barrett has the most body of work considering he started almost the entire season.
Many are saying the race for the starting spot is between Jones and Barrett. In my opinion, you have to start the guy led your team to the national championship. Jones is also the more polished quarterback and can sling the ball 70+ yards. Not to mention, he is bigger and stronger which may give him an advantage when he gets hit. Barrett is an exceptional QB but some are worried about his durability. I just can’t imagine, Jones being benched after winning a national championship, but thats why we still don’t have an answer on who is the starter. It is a tough decision. This is something that is going to be very interesting to follow as we approach the season. Whoever Meyer ends up choosing, this team will have a very good chance of repeating as national champions.
What are you thoughts on who will be the starting QB for OSU for the 2015-2016 season?
